Accessibility Lead is a year round position that will research possible disability accommodation requirements and best practices to help Kumoricon's executive team update existing and craft new convention-wide accessibility policies and procedures. In addition the Lead will work with Infrastructure and Programming on event space accommodations and accessibility services provided by the venue, with Publicity on creating and distributing communication material on convention policies, and with Operations and Chair on enforcing and executing accessibility policies once in place. The Lead will help facilitate the training of all teams within the convention to make sure all areas are aware of and up to date on accessibility policies and procedures. They will help create a list and procure materials for the Accessibility team and train necessary teams or positions on their use. The Lead will be responsible for answering any email communication from either attendees or other convention teams in a timely manner. During the convention the Lead will work with the Accessibility Liaisons and Support team to handle escalated accessibility issues on an on-call basis. They will meet with management of various convention teams for daily debriefings and work to come up with resolutions for possible issues relating to accessibility that may have happened during the day. The Lead will also work with the Registration area to facilitate training of anyone working at the Accessibility Check-in Booth so they can offer general assistance as needed.
